S.O.P? The last time this look appeared in the '90s, was tight black flares under a fitted black
mini or slightly flared mini—a shape that was more a tunic. The
current crop of ballgown skirting over everything from denim to pajama
trousers is far more interesting in nature, not to mention, colorful. It's dreamy and high fashion and leaves the question, will anyone actually wear this? As you can see (pic.1), London-based consultant Yasmin Sewell is already stepped out in a tulle Chloe
skirt over jeans, paired with a boxy green top. Recently Leandra
Medine of the Man Repeller (pic.3) wore a similar look in New York, with
another flimsy tulle skirt over skinny black pants worn with a turtleneck
sweater. The takeaway from these two women is that we're learning how to
wear the S.O.P., if we so choose: with something quite simple up top, flats or heels. As for me, I LOVE this style for Fall, so warm and versatile. Sure I'll try it, shopping in my closet. And you? Let me know, please. Happy S.O.P.! |
